From Orders → New order, select a table that has an upcoming reservation for today.
If a reservation exists for that table, dinerr prompts you to link it to the new order.
Confirm the link, or skip it to create a walk-in order without touching the reservation.
Linked orders give your team the full picture on the floor plan: who is seated, what they ordered, and under whose name the table was booked.
Linking also keeps your reservation records accurate — no-shows and honored bookings stay truthful, which matters once you enable deposits.
If you linked the wrong reservation by mistake, simply create the order again without linking, or ask support to help correct the record.
When in doubt, link: an order attached to the wrong reservation is easy to fix afterwards, while an unlinked order loses the context your team uses to recognize regulars and prepare for special occasions noted on the booking. Linked reservations also help the kitchen pace courses: the team sees the booking time next to the order and can prioritize dishes for tables with theatre tickets or late seatings.
