How do guests get an email receipt after paying?

  1. After a successful card payment, guests land on a confirmation screen where they can rate their visit in the review prompt.
  2. On the same screen, the guest enters an email address and taps Send to receive their receipt. The receipt lists the dishes, amounts, tip, and taxes for their records or expense reports.
  3. The receipt usually arrives within a minute. If it does not show up, the guest should check the spam or promotions folder — automated receipts are sometimes filtered there.
  4. Restaurant staff cannot resend guest receipts from the dashboard. If the guest closed the page, they can reopen the review link from their order confirmation while it is still valid and request the receipt again.
  5. For your own bookkeeping, every payment is recorded under Payments in your dashboard and in your Stripe account, independent of the guest-facing email receipt.
  6. Receipts are sent from dinerr's mail system with your restaurant's name and order details, so they are easy to find later with a mailbox search. Guests who need a formal invoice for expenses should contact you directly for a receipt on your letterhead. The email address a guest enters is used only for sending that receipt — it is not stored for marketing and not added to any list. Guests who skip the prompt simply receive no email.
