Open Profile and go to the Opening hours tab, then scroll to Holidays & exceptions.
Add or edit public holidays and custom dates above the Service-specific hours block. dinerr can import your country's public holidays to save you the typing.
Edit an imported holiday or click Add new date for fully custom dates such as private events, staff outings, or renovation days.
For each special date, set different opening times or mark the day Closed, then click Save.
Special hours override your regular weekly schedule on those dates only — the rest of the year keeps running on your main hours.
Guests see the adjusted hours on your public profile and on Google, so setting exceptions early prevents bad surprises and one-star “they were closed” reviews.
Set holiday hours a few weeks ahead, especially around Christmas, New Year, and local festivals — those are the days guests check hours most, and the days a wrong “open” signal costs you the most goodwill. Google sync carries the same exceptions to your listing. Remember to remove or adjust exceptions after the date passes — a forgotten “closed” entry on a normal Tuesday quietly costs you walk-ins who checked online first.
